About Us

eRate Thermal Performance Assessors, based on the Mornington Peninsula, was established in 2004 when the Building Industry introduced 4-star energy ratings for new homes, units etc.  Since then the star ratings have increased, until at the present time, the rating is 6 stars for new homes, units, townhouses, apartments, retirement villages etc. During these changes, eRate Thermal Performance Assessors kept up to date with the requirements for each star rating assessment as it was introduced.

eRate Energy Ratings, Mornington Peninsula, will assess your requirements based on the construction plans supplied. eRate will examine the plans and forward a quotation to the clients for their approval and sign off.  The quotation incorporates an Authority Agreement for eRate Thermal Performance Assessors to undertake the energy rating assessment. Upon completion of the thermal performance assessment, eRate will issue a comprehensive report and a Rating Certificate.  All designs and building variations are inclusive in accordance with the National Construction Code. Certificates are produced for New dwellings only.

With over twenty-five year’s experience in the building industry, clients can be assured that eRate Energy Ratings have the knowledge and experience to carry out the correct 6 star energy rating for your particular project. We cater for new builds, additions and extensions whether large or small.

In addition to providing energy rating certificates for new dwellings, eRate Energy Ratings Victoria are also qualified to provide Glazing Reports and Lighting Reports.

Under the National Construction Code, 6 stars is the present minimum requirement for Class 1 dwellings in Victoria. As part of the requirements, Solar hot water units or rainwater tanks (2000 liters minimum capacity), connected to the toilets are required as part of the regulations. eRate Thermal Performance Assessors are experts in assessing energy ratings to the minimum required 6 stars and up to 10 star energy rating if required by the client.

Services

The software used by eRate Energy Ratings is FirstRate  5 which is an interactive  user-friendly tool that enables Thermal Performance Assessors to provide energy ratings for a home by tracing over floorplans. The software integrates the AccuRate calculation engine to estimate the annual heating and cooling energy loads which is then used to rate an existing design or as an interactive tool to optimize the design up to a 10 star rating.

Sustainability Victoria periodically provides updates on software capabilities and information. Clients can be sure that eRate Energy Ratings Mornington Peninsula Victoria keep well ahead with the latest thermal performance assessment requirements as stipulated by Sustainability Victoria.
